Registered User Posts: 151 Nov 10 10 7:58 PM	Diceman; This kind of poll was difficult to create in "the old days" when you were limited to 5 choices. I tried to make a really simple poll to get something going on this forum. That's why I used the term "best" casino without any restrictions as to what "best" means. In retrospect, the poll must be a little too bland, since very few people checked one of the boxes. I could have added a "There is no best casino", but I don't think that would have really improved the quality of my poll that much. I really would like to drive to Tunica and see a billboard that reads "Casino X is number 1 in Tunica, as rated by the members of the Tunica One Forum". Registered User Posts: 369 Nov 10 10 8:35 PM	I agree that would be neat. I was one that voted for the fitz. We have stayed at the fitz for several years and just like the place. The dealers are friendly and do a good job at the craps table which is what I play exclusively. They've improved the buffet in the last couple of years, imho, and remodeled many of the rooms. We just feel more comfortable there and have done pretty good at the tables over the years. We also like and play at other casinos every time we go. Lately we've had good luck at the gold strike.

The hosts told me that if you stay at the Fitz and play at the Fitz, they would feed you and we have NEVER had a problem getting a buffet comped. I think all the employees there are extremely friendly. I also like that the pool and jacuzzi area are limited to adults (18 and older) all the time. I love the beds at the Fitz. They are so comfy that I'd love to bring one home. Also, even though I play at several other casinos when I visit Tunica, Fitz has always sent me the best mailers. I'm a very low roller and I get $40 a week in slot play, 2 free buffets and 2 anytime nites per week at the hotel. Can't beat that!

But that is because I haven't been to Tunica since August of 2009. Also, the rooms are pretty nice there and the casino is decent. I play a lot of poker and the room is a good one there.

Registered User Posts: 249 Nov 21 10 10:20 PM	Well me and my inlaws go to sams town for our rooms. and we play the slots there too. but we also go across the street to go to hollywood casino. i like the slots there to then we go to harrahs.and play to. jessica loves to look at the movie props. and she also likes to watch the catfish in there back pond. i never been or stayed at the frizs. but i wont be going as long as i satay here at bashford nursing home. they wont let me spend the night anywhere so its hard. but maybe if i get into asst living i will be ok. and will be able to go to tunica. oh how i miss tunica. sign roberto a-k-a romprime2000,,

Registered User Posts: 151 Dec 11 10 8:46 PM	It's time for me to discuss the results of the "best tunica casino" poll. Remember, my point of view is entirely that of a $.25 video poker player. I started this poll to create a little discussion, so please feel free to disagree with me. First, I cannot draw too many conclusions from a poll with 34 votes, but I'll jump in anyway. I expected Fitzgerald's to do well. This group has a lot of members that appreciate the atmosphere at the Fitz, and also like their inexpensive rooms and easily attained comps. They attract both video poker and slots players. Horseshoe's high finish was not a surprise. Although I never go there, they have a good reputation as a first class, Vegas type casino. Gold Strike 's high finish was not expected by me. Their policy changes alienated video poker players, and I assumed that they did the same for slots players. Sam's Town, my personal favorite, finished about where I had predicted. Their good video poker, fair comps, good buffet, and liberal room discounts keep me as a customer. I would think that Keno players would put this first on their list. I also feel that there are a lot of poker players that rank Sam's Town towards the top. Most of the casinos falling at the bottom of the poll didn't surprise me. Except for free gifts, Resorts doesn't seem to have too much to offer anymore. their buffet, which used to be one of my favorites, is inconsistent, and their video poker is poor. Harrah's doesn't offer too much for me, except for Paula Dean's. I miss the Grand. The real surprise for me was the Roadhouse (my second choice for the best casino.) I actually like most of their music, and even though the clientele may be a little different for the customers at the other casinos, they seem like nice people. The great video poker ranks high for me, even though I am resigned to the fact that I will never receive a mailer or a comp from them.

Plus as most of us veteran players know they change .... policies, comps, management, promos, food, decor, you name it... it will change lol. For me, at one time or another each casino has been my favorite. Thank goodness we have variety! lol. It would be interesting to see if a monthly or every two month poll would be consistent. A few years ago we did an in depth contest of best rooms, best dining, and etc. Every casino seemed to do well in at least one category. Maybe we need to crank up a new contest.

Too bad the mgmt at Resorts have driven themselves down the hole. We once spent a great deal of time there. We could always get a room, often a suite. Then they dropped the hosts. Then they tried to have a high limit slot area at the same time they dumbed down their offers to $5 trinkets. They would get tons of people in there sitting in the chairs waiting for time to get their junk, then leave. Same with the drawings. We both were at the level to use the lounge, but have given up. We make our donations elsewhere.

Registered User Posts: 836 Dec 18 10 5:00 PM	Gail and I have been mainly going to HS, GS, and RH because of the three casinos within walking distance. Since we don`t go to Tunica as often as we once did, we make better use of our time going to those three instead of all the casino hopping we once did. HW, Resorts and ST are the farthest casinos for us to get to, so with limited time we seldom go to that end of the casino area. Now that I have said that ,ST has sent Gail some decent January coupons so we may visit there after the first of the year. Ballys has a table game called Deuces Wild Foldem (I think that is the name) that Gail likes to play so we go there a little but not as much as we used to because I play craps and either there is no one playing (I don`t play alone) or the table is too crowded. At GS,HS and RH I have at least six and sometimes 15 craps tables to choose from. Plus HS and GS have poker rooms and decent places to eat. Although the Silo at Ballys have darn good pizza and their comp dollar buffet can`t be beaten for the price. All in all, The HS and GS are my two favorite casinos , to stay , play and dine. Neither send me much in the form of mailers and comps because I am a low roller. I live on Gail`s comps.

They give us 4 nights free a month, 2 buffet tickets for 2 a month, and $200 for Jerry and $120 for me. I don't know of another casino that will give such benefits. We are really treated special and they treat eveyone that way....It depends on how much you play and for how long. We are addicted to the Fitz!!
