Seatbealts to me are not uncomfortable. I have used them since 1967 and I feel uncomfortable without them. A couple of the last busses we were on had seat
belts and Claire and I both used them.

Charles, I don't consider seatbelts uncomfortble either, but a lot of people do. We used seatbelts from the very first time we had a car that had them and
taught our kids to do likewise.
Unfortunately, they did not listen and our son is blind in one eye for the last 20 years because he did not have his seatbelt on when he was in a car accident and his head hit the up and down section dividing the windshield from the side window. He also had a severe closed head injury that, except for the grace of God, he would have died from. November 5, 1988 the police called and said our son was at the hospital after the accident. I asked how bad it was and they said they preferred not to tell me. I told them I wanted to know if I should plan on a short time at the hospital or a long time. They said he would be lucky to live thru the day. As the day progressed, they upgraded that prognosis to him being virtually a vegetable, if he did indeed live. Then they upgraded that he would need to be retrained to do everything. I could live with that as long as he lived. But then a miracle happened. His brain and his body connected again. And now he has lived another 20 years to be a 'pain in the butt' to his parents |

LB:
I know that has to have been a "nightmare", for the people who survived the bus crash, and the families of their loved ones involved in the accident. My heart goes out to all of them. Aretta: At least your "pain in the butt" learned to wear his seatbelt. Seriously, I am glad that he learned, and that he is alright today. Jerry and I, and our two girls started wearing our seatbelts long before it was the law. It is automatic for us to "buckle up". |

It is "second nature" for us too, Carol. Here in Alabama it is a state law too!
