Inquiring minds want to know, DID THE TORNADO COME CLOSE TO YOU THIS MORNIG?
After I heard about it, I thought about you, but I see you posted elsewhere on the forum and didnt say anything, so it must not have been to close.

Charles,
I think it was about 2 miles as the crow flies from our house. Believe it or not, the thunder woke me up, and I rolled back over and went back to sleep. I was up late from going to a wedding. My husband left the phone by the computer and went to work on Sunday, so the phone wasn't in my room. When I got up very late on Sunday, I noticed I had messages. 2 people had called to check on me. I thought "what on earth did I sleep thru???" My parents, who live nearby, but closer to all the businesses in Fairview, heard the sirens. We couldn't hear them in our neighborhood. I had some debris in my yard that my nephew so diligently cleaned up for me last week, but that was about it. Dad said that his power flashed on and off, and that's what woke him, then he heard the sirens. He turned the t.v. on, and saw the tornado warning, but by then, the warning area was on top of us. By the time they got dressed, it was gone. I'm kind of glad I was clueless, I would have been scared to death.

I am glad you are OK, I didnt turn on the radio or TV Sunday morning, the first I heard about it was during the prayers in church, boy was I shocked, that was
between 11:00 and 11:30

Gosh, Melinda:
I'm sure glad you are alright. I think, like you, I would be happy to sleep through it, too. I don't like storms, and there have been way too many tornados here lately. One tornado it too many. |

Thanks all. I know one thing, I will try very hard to make sure my next house has one main living area, (I hate step, as do my knees), and a true
underground basement to go to during a storm. My knees will just have to endure getting down there. |
