Flooding? |

Has there been any flooding near and around the casino's? I read where Tunica County is threatened with flooding with all the rain they have been having.

Oh no,no no. Tell me it isn't so. As much as I'm looking forward to our Tunica trip next week, I don't think I could handle it if they tell me
it's flooded down there and I can't go
I am not a very good swimmer, but if there's a slot machine waiting at the other end, I'd sure give it a try

There's high waters in Tunica and Memphis but no major flooding. The regular areas (farm land, flood plains) are flooding but nothing too serious. North of
the area they had to close a few casinos, in Indiana, for a short time but everything is back open and in business now.

Thanks, Brian:
I knew about Caesar's Creek closing (for a minute or two ![]() ), but, had also heard about maybe flooding in Tunica County. We've had our
share of rain here, also. With more heavy rain on Friday.
Now, let's see..........do I want to be in Ohio with the rain, or Tunica with the rain...........Hmmmm...I guess everyone knows the answer to that one.

Carol, I don't even care if it's raining INSIDE the casino, I'll still take Tunica next week over Michigan
Just 92 more hours and 58 minutes til we leave Michigan.....but who's counting anyway

From the front page of this website http://www.tunica-ms.com
You will see a link to a page where I have posted pictures and a link to a video you may want to watch on the flooding from yesterday's Memphis News Channel 5. The hardest hit is the Tunica Cutoff area. Yesterday my son and others helped transport 42 residents and helped move things to safety. Even though the residents are on stilts the mighty power of the Mississippi River and rising waters presented a huge challenge to those living on the river. Jen Oh when you see the video on River Park notice how much of an incline there is to board the Tunica Queen and how close the river's edge is to the parking lot. |

Gosh, Jen:
Those are some mighty scary pictures. Rain, rain, go away. Looks like you are supposed to have a heavy rain Friday (we are here in Ohio, too The forecast for Tunica next week looks really nice. High in the 70s and sunny. Yea, Tunica, here we come. Three days, and counting...........who's counting? |

I have this mental image of Simmie in a rain coat, inside a flooded casino , with the authorities dragging her out by the feet, while she's kicking and
screaming "no, you can't make me go!" Oh wait - there are two women in that picture. Who's that attached to Simmie's ankles? Oh -
it's Carol!!!
I hope the rain subsides for your trip, and all the nice people that live along the Mississippi as well. I'm sure everything will be great. I'll be very lonely without the two of you next week! Take lots of notes so you can both give very long trip reports. |

Simmie and I are going to be chained to our favorite slots, and that way, if we go, the slots go with us. |

That's funny, Mel. I'm sure going to miss this forum while I'm gone but I'm too cheap to pay the internet connection down there. I'm
almost as addicted to this forum as I am to the slot machines
You got it, Carol. If those slot machines float, we're gonna float right down that river with them Hey, there's got to be a song there somewhere. Maybe Jerry and Duane can
make up a song while they're playing the guitar and harmonica

No, Carol, I want to belly dance. I don't have to work to hard at that cause my belly dances every time I walk anyway
I just have to learn to make it go in the right directions
