Those are the only flowers you'll see around here. This is one of the strangest Easter's I've ever seen, even for Michigan. Friday night we had 8
inches of snow and this morning it's 15 degrees.
The kids hunted Easter eggs in the snow in their snowsuits. I hope the Easter bunny didn't freeze his patooties off last night delivering baskets

Well it was snowing when I got up this am! The ground was covered but it has melted now, still only around 38 to 40, should be a mix of rain and snow this
afternoon, not exactly the Easter we had hoped for! No flowers are blooming but the Meramec crested yesterday in Eureka and Valley Park so the water is slowly
going down so that is good for the St. Louis area. It is so sad to see the flooding on TV. Hopefully spring will be here soon! In a few short months we will
be so dry we will see our grass dying from lack of water!

Happy Easter, friends!
No snow at all on the ground here but it was pretty cold this morning when I went back to work after my vacation. Tomorrow, in the town where I live, they are filming scenes for the new Johnny Depp movie and the paper said they are most likely going to "make" snow for the scenes. They should have filmed here last month and they would have had plenty of the real thing! This is exciting stuff though for my little town....not that often that they film parts of movies here! Wish I was off tomorrow so I could go watch!

Karen, they filmed the movie Broken Bridges near our daughter a couple of years back, it stared Toby Keith, Kelly Preston, (John Travolta wife), it had Willie
Nelson and Burt Reynolds in it. Our Daughter was an extra in the film. She made a $100.00 a day and they got fed and everything. They also got to meet the
stars. She has a picture of her and Toby Keith together. Peggy said that all of them were just down to earth people and were really nice.
We went to see the movie on the big screen but it didnt start out so well, the reviews were not that great so they pulled it and soon it was being shown on CMT about every other day for a while. She was in a lot of the movie but only one scene you could see her and recognize her. Her car was also in the movie but it was so fast you cant really tell what it is. Oh, put me in, coach - Im ready to play today;

Charles T, Wowee! Your daughter must have been flying high meeting them! Toby Keith is my very favorite country singer, I have probably 5 of his CD's.
I did not like country music until once (1995 I think) when visiting my cousin in CA, friends took me to a Reba MacIntyre concert and Toby was the singer with
her, he and Rhett Akins. I have my picture with Rhett Akins, on my dressor yet. After going to a super good concert I was hooked on country, now most of my
cd's are country. Well George Strait is pretty close to being my favorite too though, and Garth Brooks. Every time we go to Tulsa to see my son I think
maybe this time I will see Garth and Tricia or Toby Keith at the Woodlands Mall.
Here I did always love Elvis but to me he wasn't country he was Rock and Roll, however now when I hear so many of the oldies I realize they really were country, what was I thinking! |

Hey Charles...I didn't see that movie your daughter was in because I am not a Toby Keith fan although I do like country music.I did , however, enjoy eating
at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill restaurant in Las Vegas...super good food!
Looking forward to seeing this new Johnny Depp movie when it comes out next year. Even though there is going to be very little of the film shot in my town, it will still be cool to see it on the big screen. I'm not really into old gangster movies though but I will still go see it. Johnny Depp is playing John Dillinger who escaped from our jail in 1934 by driving away in the sherriff's new car! He was later killed in Chicago. That is our towns "claim to fame"!

MoKathy, if you can remember back that far, what we called rock and rool in the 50s and 60s is very close to what country is today. Country back then was
somethind different altogether. I loved rock and roll and listened to country a lot too. I think that is why country is my first love today.
Best of luck Jack

Yes Jack you said it how I meant to say it! I think the same way and oh too clearly remember the music of the 50's and 60's! I was not much into the "twangy" old country music that I would hear on the radio, but did like the Everly Brothers, but they were about as country as I ever liked. Opps Roy Orbison too! I love the Pop Country of today and find myself listening to more and more - I even like Willie Nelson now! 15 years ago I would not have said that. |
