I thought I would post my trip report over here too since I talk to alot of you in chat.
Well, let me start off by saying, Sorry it took me so long to write! I didnt take notes like I said I was going to , although I did attempt to the first night, but after that it went right out the window. LOL Just remember Im going from memory here, so if my sisters write a report, they may vary! LOL!! So here goes my very first ever trip report, so be kind. WARNING: LONG!
We had been watching the weather and thinking, Oh great, look whats headed to Mississippi, A tropical storm! Luckily we only ran into rain Saturday and by the time we arrived in Gulfport the weather was beautiful.
Saturday June 11: Friday I had gotten to Athens and spent the night with my sister Buffy, so Saturday morning we left headed to Rome to our other sisters house, Beverly.
We hadnt planned on leaving until that evening, but we were too excited to wait so we left out a little after 2.
Pearl River Resort: Nice place! Arrived there around 7. We valet parked and went into Golden Moon casino, and went straight to players club to get a card. Computers down..no cards, try again later. Well, bummer, so we played anyway. Tried again to get our cards, nope still down.
Decide to go over to Silver Star and check it out, and decide to get a bite to eat at Ventanas Mexican restaurant. Dont know if it was just a bad night, but it took us forever to get our food, they even stopped seating anyone until they could catch updont know why we waited, may have been due to the karaoke, it kept us entertained. I KNOW I cant sing so thats why I wasnt up there, some people just dont have that insight, but they sure do have courage! LOL The wait also gave me time to write my one and only notes for the trip. Heres what I wrote: 8:30, still no players card, up $30.00 playing price check and money to burn, and wondering if were ever going to get our food.
After we finally get out of the restaurant, we decide to try for players cards again..SUCCESS, players cards in hand we hit the slots again. Played for a while, when Beverly says, Pam, someone stole my cigarette case with the valet ticket in it. We get security to figure out what we need to do. Im thinking no valet ticket, no car! And also is my car still even there? They call the head security guy and off we head to valet. Hes walking, Im running! LOL!! Short legs! We arrive and he wants me to describe my car, and Im trying to tell him I have keys that would be easier to findhe keeps wanting to know about car, so I tell him, and he goes in a side door and then we wait, and wait, and wait. Finally, hes backoh no..dont like the look on his face. Before he could say anything, Im saying, look for my keys, theyre very distinctive, they have a baseball glove, baseball, Rome Police Dept. keychain, and miniature Alaska tags with Chuck and Pam on them, he turns right around goes back in the door and a few seconds later walks out with them! Thank God!! My car is still here! Buffy said, when he came out the door with that look on his face, she just knew the car was gone, and she thought she was going to pass out! LOL!! I think I was the calmest, and it was MY car! LOL! We get another ticket and off to gamble again, although Beverly didnt want anything to do with the ticket and she didnt the rest of the trip! LOL
After playing until around 2:30 am or so we decide to eat at the buffet that we received when we got our cards, and after that we head out. We had planned on spending the night somewhere but Beverly said she was wide awake and so we decided to head on to Biloxi. Im down some money wise but not bad.
Sunday June 12: Arrive in Gulfport around 8:00 am. and knowing our room at the Beau probably isnt ready so we stop by Copa and play a while. Im just hopping around and trying out different nickel machines that were new to me and playing some of the penny ones, that I havent ever played. Im pretty sure I leave here down too.
Now we head over to the Grand and play. We decide to eat at the buffet, it was ok. We play for a while just mainly jumping around and looking to see what new machines were out, I cannot remember what all I played but I do know I was having fun, tired, but having fun nonetheless. Leave there still down for the trip.
Arrive at the Beau, valet park, while Buffy is checking in, we are getting luggage out of car (A LOT of luggage). LOL! Get checked in and head up to room to wait on luggage. Plan was take showers and rest for a while. Did we? Nope, we take showers and head down to play! We get down stairs and scatter. I find my favorite Munsters game and settle in for a while, going up and down, and finally cashing out, up around $40.00 for that game. Played price check, money to burn, some kind of beaver game, and tailgate party. I also played jackpot party, since that was the very first slot machine I ever played in Biloxi, and it was not good to me this time anywhere I played it. Tried the new Jeff Foxworthy penny slotmoney went WAY too fast in that one and never tried it again. You have to do max bet to even get the Jeff Foxworthy bonus.
We finally find each other again decide its time to eat dinner. We decide to get something quick so we head to a McDonalds, then to another McDonalds, and then we eat at Wendys! LOL The first McDs there was only one person in front of us that was still waiting to get waited on, and there was maybe 2 people in there eating. We wait for a few minutes and then leave, and go to another one, IT was packed and only one register open, we see a Wendys next door, walk around the fence and are the first in line and get our food. So much for something quick to eat!
Now we head back to the Beau and play a while before heading up to bed sometime after 11:00 I think. These first 2 days are definitely a blur from only a couple hours of sleep in the car while Beverly drove. We definitely CRASH! Im down a little or is that up a little. Cant remember.
Monday June 13: Wow, I feel great, had some sleep! This was supposed to be our cabana day, but we decided it was just too hot and the casino was nice and cool! LOL! That poor cabana boy just doesnt know how lucky he got!
Were all ready to play now! Head down after showers, probably around 10 or 11 am. I head for my Munsters game and order a mocha! We play there for a while then head to Red Lobster for lunch. It was good, after some conversation over where were headed to now.
Off to Treasure Bay to play some more. Cannot remember what in the world I played there, but Im sure I was having fun! Lol Next
Off to Boomtown, I do remember some games I played there. I played some kind of diamond game that was fun. I tried out Men in Black, it was fun also. Hopped around mainly losing but getting a lot of playing time when I played the penny machines. I also played munsters and price check. Left there and headed back to the Beau.
We get back to Beau and get comps for the dinner buffet, and it was really good, we then decide to play for a bit then head to Imperial Palace after midnight for their 4X points, as we were leaving in the morning for New Orleans. We play there a couple of hours and I dont do well there at all, except for the My Rich Uncle game I played. I was up a little after playing that one but quickly lost it in other machines. Leave and head back to get some sleep.
Tuesday June 14: Up early, shower and get packed up to check out. We get all that done and head down to a comped buffet breakfast. It was really good. We head back upstairs to call down for them to come get our luggage and then we get checked out and headed to the Hilton in New Orleans, a comped room thanks to Harrahs.
We arrive and find the parking garage and head into Harrahs to play a while before we check into the Hilton. This is a nice casino, big too, I kept getting turned around in there. We played a lot of pennies here. I tried out a lot of different ones but I think I did the best on ghost island, mardi gras and my rich uncle. We meet back up, (we seemed to always be looking for each other! LOL) and head over to the Hilton to check in. We have a really nice water view room. We decide to go to the mall that is attached to the hotel for a quick bite to eat. I think we really really need to quit trying for that quick bite! The reason is because we walked and walked, we went up stairs, walked some more then found more stairs, and finally, the food court. As were leaving the hotel to head back to Harrahs, the guys in valet give us some beads, so now wearing our beads we go play for just a little bit longer. The last machine I played that day was a Price is Right cliffhanger game, I cash out 40 to 50 dollars ahead. My small wins keep me going.
Now its time to head to Bourbon Street! Its starting to get dark and thats when everyone told us is the time to go. So we start walking that way. What a crazy place! I dont think Ive walked that much in a long time. We were trying to walk and look around at the same time, there was so much going on. We eat at a place called Sammys and it was pretty good. Afterwards we start walking again, as people are trying to get us to come in to different places and join the party. Shoot, we were afraid wed miss something if we went in and sat down somewhere! LOL!! Well, we decide its time to turn around and head back and next thing I know somebody yells STOP Thats not allowed on Bourbon St! Buffy was a little bit in front of me so thats who they grabbed first, Im thinking, What did she do? Pull her shirt up? But wait, isnt that allowed?? LOL!! Just kidding! Anyway, we thought what did we do?? They say yall are getting a ticket! Im thinking, How am I going to explain this one to Chuck? Then they start writing and hand us each this ticket, circled on the ticket is party pooper, and there are 3 items checked off, one is: too pretty, another one is: guy watching, and the last one is: not partying hard enough!! Then they named us, Im Cupcake, Beverly was Sunshine, and Buffy was Princess! Then they let us go with our tickets! LOL!! Im thinking, out of all the people walking along this street, they pick us! Figures! It was funny after we realized we hadnt broken any laws! LOL
We did stop in one gift shop on Bourbon street so Buffy could buy a Frog dressed up like a prince. That lady in there was a bit creepy, nice but kinda scary, then I started looking around and saw all kinds of voodoo stuff, Im ready to go! We walk out and I told Buffy that lady was a voodoo lady! LOL!! She said, Dont tell me I bought a hexed frog! By the way, after Buffy got back to Athens, she did a search to see if she could now get the female frog, she found out that its supposed to be the most haunted shop on that street! Figures, the one and only store we stop in!! LOL!!
Now for the long trek back to the hotel. We were exhausted and didnt have any trouble falling asleep that night.
Wednesday June 15: My legs were killing me this morning so I told them they could go on to the French Market without me. They came back a little while later, and said, you better be glad you didnt goits very hot and humid out there. Yep, glad I didnt! We then pack up and check out, and put everything in my car.
Now were on a streetcar headed to Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville for lunch. What a cool place! We have a blast in there! We all decide to have a margarita thats called license to chill. Very good and potent. Only had one or Id have been chillin under the table! LOL Then what did we have to eat?? Cheeseburger in Paradise, of Course! LOL!!
We each got a t-shirt with license to chill, seeing as how that would definitely bring back memories. We then catch the streetcar back to Harrahs to play on a wheel of fortune before we leave. I didnt do any good. So now its time to head out. Decide to try and find the Ballys thats around there somewhere. We finally found it, but not what we expected. That place was in pretty bad shape. A lot of the slots didnt have a stool, and then when you would find a game you wanted to play, it wouldnt take your money. I played a wheel of fortune game right as you walk in and thats about it. I did cash out ahead though. We walked around a few more minutes and then decided, ok, time to head back towards Biloxi.
As were heading that way we spot the sign for Casino Magic Bay St. Louis, and decided to stop there and check it out. Its a nice place and we had fun there. I didnt do that great but held my own, and Ive already gotten a room offer in the mail from them.
We arrive back at the Beau sometime after 6:00 and check in again, with a little extra luggage. LOL Then we head to the IP for their steak special. My steak was great, but Beverlys was paper thin and Buffys was a little better. LOL I told them I would share! The service left a lot to be desired too. We played there for a little while. A few I played there were: munsters, my rich uncle, money to burn, wheel of fortune, Frank Sinatra, and jackpot party. Im still down money wise, but still havent used what I had allotted for that day. lol
Then we head to The Isle of Capri, nice place, but boy did they have the air conditioner cranking there. I expected to see snow anytime. I played the Match Game and did really well on that, it was fun and the bonus came around a good bit, did cash out ahead on that one. Played there a while, then headed back to the Beau. Played there until after 3 am and then headed up to bed.
INTERMISSION: take a break and grab a snack. LOL
Thursday June 16: Around 6:30 am (Mississippi time) I hear my cell phone ringing, dont know how in the world it woke me up, seeing how we had only been asleep a few hours. By the time I was awake enough to retrieve it, it had stopped ringing. I picked it up and seen it said, home. Well, that woke me up really fast, I thought something must be wrong for Chuck or Jay to be calling me this early. I finally get good enough reception in the bathroom and call back. Automatically Im asking whats wrong, Chuck said, nothings wrong but thats Master Sergeant to you! (HE MADE MASTER!!!!) I was so excited and didnt think about what time it was and I let out a yell!! LOL!! I apologize to anyone sleeping on the 24th floor at the Beau that morning, hope you were able to go back to sleep! This was the Biggest Win of my trip and it didnt even happen in Biloxi! What a great way to start the day. Couldnt wait to get back to Warner Robins to celebrate that one!
Sometime that morning we head over to the Palace to play a little and see how long it would take us to get the 30 points needed for the buffet. All Ive got to say is, longer than expected! LOL!! We nixed that idea, and headed on to the Grand because Bev really wanted us to try Roxys Diner. It was a cool place, and the food was really good, and we couldnt finish it all. We played a little there and then headed on to Casino Magic.
We bought tickets here for the 6:30 Showgirls show. After we got our tickets we went and played (of course) until time for the show. Well, we get into the place where theyre having the show, and boy is it a small room and small stage and runway. We end up right up front and next to the runway. We settle in and order a drink, boy are we going to need it. This show is definitely geared more towards men. It was not exactly what I was expecting! LOL!! There were only like 5 or 6 showgirls, good thing, another one wouldnt have fit on the stage. I felt like I was at a burlesque show! lol So, men, yall would love this show. lol A little too much close up action for us! Although we did enjoy some of it and one of the numbers they did was really good and they actually had hot pants on for this one versus the g-string for all the others. LOL!! They also had a guy and girl that sang, and also a comedienne/magician. He was pretty funny. And to all my Tunica friends, I saw my first Elvis impersonator! Well, I got excited when he said one was coming out on stage, because I remembered that conversation we had on chat one night about Elvis! LOL!! Well, my excitement was short lived..Elvis was a dog, I dont mean he was ugly I mean he was really a dog..one that barks! ROFL Oh well, Im not giving up! Ill have my first real sighting yet!
We left Casino Magic and headed down to the shop with a big Shark Head actually I think thats what the name of it was. Picked up a few things and since it was getting late and we were hungry we headed again to Red Lobster. Enjoyed our late dinner and then headed back to the Beau, and it was crazy! They were having some kind of party at Club Tiki, there were lines everywhere, even to get on the elevators. We decide to find a machine and get comfortable for a bit. Yep, I go to my favorite Munster machine way in the back past the players club and settle in with a mocha, and just tuned the (young crowd) out. After a while I wander around to see if I can find my sisters and try a machine here and there. I tried one called Fortune Cookie, that one was hilarious, when you make the bonus round, he comments on everything you pick and its so funny. I found the sisters and we play for a little more since it was our last night, we get up to bed late again.
Friday June 17: Its Friday??? Where did the time go, it cant be time to leave! But yep, its that time. We get all our stuff ready and head down for the breakfast buffet, enjoyed that as usual, and head back up to call for someone to pick up our luggage. Buffy goes to check out and me and Beverly head on over to valet, for the car and our luggage, I go ahead and walk over to the fountain to wait on the car and Beverly hands the bellboy our luggage ticket. He looks at her and says, 11 bags? and she says yes, I think he thought they were all hers! LOL!! Well, it does get comical when he brings over our luggage and my little Suzuki Forenza pulls up! LOL!! We open the trunk and he says, yall got all of this? In there? With a straight face, we say, Yes! LOL!!! Well, we did have to put a few things in the back seat! LOL!!! The look on his face was priceless!
Well, were now on the road, and youre probably thinking, well, thats it for the gambling this trip! Not! Well, as were nearing Montgomery Alabama we keep seeing signs for Victoryland Casino. Well, we havent eaten lunch so maybe they have a place there. LOL!! We just werent ready to give it up yet! LOL!! It was in Shorter Alabama, right outside of Montgomery. We werent expecting much, but we were really surprised. We had to go in and check it out of course, and the security guard outside said, I dont think you ladies are old enough to be here. LOL!! What a crock! But hey, I appreciated it anyway! LOL!!! We definitely had to go in after a compliment like that, especially as you only had to be 19! LOL! Well, we went in and this place just kept goingI dont even think we saw all the slot machines on the first floor, and we never made it up to the second floor to check it out either. They told us that they had just opened up 2 more wings there. We had lunch and played a couple of machines. Me and Buffy tried the Beverly Hillbillies one and both cashed out ahead, and we left after that. Definitely worth checking out again. Oh we did eat lunch by the way.
Well, get on the road and head to Rome, and get there a little after 8 at night and me and Buffy stay the night with Beverly.
Saturday June 18: Well, get up and get ready, put on my Slot Zombie shirt and head to Athens to take Buffy home, after a waking up to a flat tire and getting that fixed, on the road again. Get to Athens, drop her off, stretch my legs and hit the road for Warner Robins. I arrive home around 6 pm.
Well, I didnt bring home any casino money but I did bring back a little of mine and we sure did have a great time. At least it wasnt so bad that I had to bring out my shirt that said: one casino, two casino, three casino, poor!! LOL!! I put that money back to add to our Tunica trip Aug 9th Aug 12th. Me and Chuck are going for the first time and are making the meet. Thanks for hanging in there and reading this, Ill try to improve as I write these. Im sure I forgot things and if I think of anything important Ill let ya know. lol

That lady in there was a bit creepy, nice but kinda scary, then I started looking around and saw all kinds of voodoo stuff, Im ready to go! We walk out and I told Buffy that lady was a voodoo lady! LOL!! She said, Dont tell me I bought a hexed frog! By the way, after Buffy got back to Athens, she did a search to see if she could now get the female frog, she found out that its supposed to be the most haunted shop on that street! Figures, the one and only store we stop in!! LOL!!
Now for the long trek back to the hotel. We were exhausted and didnt have any trouble falling asleep that night.
Wednesday June 15: My legs were killing me this morning so I told them they could go on to the French Market without me. They came back a little while later, and said, you better be glad you didnt goits very hot and humid out there. Yep, glad I didnt! We then pack up and check out, and put everything in my car.
Now were on a streetcar headed to Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville for lunch. What a cool place! We have a blast in there! We all decide to have a margarita thats called license to chill. Very good and potent. Only had one or Id have been chillin under the table! LOL Then what did we have to eat?? Cheeseburger in Paradise, of Course! LOL!!
We each got a t-shirt with license to chill, seeing as how that would definitely bring back memories. We then catch the streetcar back to Harrahs to play on a wheel of fortune before we leave. I didnt do any good. So now its time to head out. Decide to try and find the Ballys thats around there somewhere. We finally found it, but not what we expected. That place was in pretty bad shape. A lot of the slots didnt have a stool, and then when you would find a game you wanted to play, it wouldnt take your money. I played a wheel of fortune game right as you walk in and thats about it. I did cash out ahead though. We walked around a few more minutes and then decided, ok, time to head back towards Biloxi.
As were heading that way we spot the sign for Casino Magic Bay St. Louis, and decided to stop there and check it out. Its a nice place and we had fun there. I didnt do that great but held my own, and Ive already gotten a room offer in the mail from them.
We arrive back at the Beau sometime after 6:00 and check in again, with a little extra luggage. LOL Then we head to the IP for their steak special. My steak was great, but Beverlys was paper thin and Buffys was a little better. LOL I told them I would share! The service left a lot to be desired too. We played there for a little while. A few I played there were: munsters, my rich uncle, money to burn, wheel of fortune, Frank Sinatra, and jackpot party. Im still down money wise, but still havent used what I had allotted for that day. lol
Then we head to The Isle of Capri, nice place, but boy did they have the air conditioner cranking there. I expected to see snow anytime. I played the Match Game and did really well on that, it was fun and the bonus came around a good bit, did cash out ahead on that one. Played there a while, then headed back to the Beau. Played there until after 3 am and then headed up to bed.
INTERMISSION: take a break and grab a snack. LOL
Thursday June 16: Around 6:30 am (Mississippi time) I hear my cell phone ringing, dont know how in the world it woke me up, seeing how we had only been asleep a few hours. By the time I was awake enough to retrieve it, it had stopped ringing. I picked it up and seen it said, home. Well, that woke me up really fast, I thought something must be wrong for Chuck or Jay to be calling me this early. I finally get good enough reception in the bathroom and call back. Automatically Im asking whats wrong, Chuck said, nothings wrong but thats Master Sergeant to you! (HE MADE MASTER!!!!) I was so excited and didnt think about what time it was and I let out a yell!! LOL!! I apologize to anyone sleeping on the 24th floor at the Beau that morning, hope you were able to go back to sleep! This was the Biggest Win of my trip and it didnt even happen in Biloxi! What a great way to start the day. Couldnt wait to get back to Warner Robins to celebrate that one!
Sometime that morning we head over to the Palace to play a little and see how long it would take us to get the 30 points needed for the buffet. All Ive got to say is, longer than expected! LOL!! We nixed that idea, and headed on to the Grand because Bev really wanted us to try Roxys Diner. It was a cool place, and the food was really good, and we couldnt finish it all. We played a little there and then headed on to Casino Magic.
We bought tickets here for the 6:30 Showgirls show. After we got our tickets we went and played (of course) until time for the show. Well, we get into the place where theyre having the show, and boy is it a small room and small stage and runway. We end up right up front and next to the runway. We settle in and order a drink, boy are we going to need it. This show is definitely geared more towards men. It was not exactly what I was expecting! LOL!! There were only like 5 or 6 showgirls, good thing, another one wouldnt have fit on the stage. I felt like I was at a burlesque show! lol So, men, yall would love this show. lol A little too much close up action for us! Although we did enjoy some of it and one of the numbers they did was really good and they actually had hot pants on for this one versus the g-string for all the others. LOL!! They also had a guy and girl that sang, and also a comedienne/magician. He was pretty funny. And to all my Tunica friends, I saw my first Elvis impersonator! Well, I got excited when he said one was coming out on stage, because I remembered that conversation we had on chat one night about Elvis! LOL!! Well, my excitement was short lived..Elvis was a dog, I dont mean he was ugly I mean he was really a dog..one that barks! ROFL Oh well, Im not giving up! Ill have my first real sighting yet!
We left Casino Magic and headed down to the shop with a big Shark Head actually I think thats what the name of it was. Picked up a few things and since it was getting late and we were hungry we headed again to Red Lobster. Enjoyed our late dinner and then headed back to the Beau, and it was crazy! They were having some kind of party at Club Tiki, there were lines everywhere, even to get on the elevators. We decide to find a machine and get comfortable for a bit. Yep, I go to my favorite Munster machine way in the back past the players club and settle in with a mocha, and just tuned the (young crowd) out. After a while I wander around to see if I can find my sisters and try a machine here and there. I tried one called Fortune Cookie, that one was hilarious, when you make the bonus round, he comments on everything you pick and its so funny. I found the sisters and we play for a little more since it was our last night, we get up to bed late again.
Friday June 17: Its Friday??? Where did the time go, it cant be time to leave! But yep, its that time. We get all our stuff ready and head down for the breakfast buffet, enjoyed that as usual, and head back up to call for someone to pick up our luggage. Buffy goes to check out and me and Beverly head on over to valet, for the car and our luggage, I go ahead and walk over to the fountain to wait on the car and Beverly hands the bellboy our luggage ticket. He looks at her and says, 11 bags? and she says yes, I think he thought they were all hers! LOL!! Well, it does get comical when he brings over our luggage and my little Suzuki Forenza pulls up! LOL!! We open the trunk and he says, yall got all of this? In there? With a straight face, we say, Yes! LOL!!! Well, we did have to put a few things in the back seat! LOL!!! The look on his face was priceless!
Well, were now on the road, and youre probably thinking, well, thats it for the gambling this trip! Not! Well, as were nearing Montgomery Alabama we keep seeing signs for Victoryland Casino. Well, we havent eaten lunch so maybe they have a place there. LOL!! We just werent ready to give it up yet! LOL!! It was in Shorter Alabama, right outside of Montgomery. We werent expecting much, but we were really surprised. We had to go in and check it out of course, and the security guard outside said, I dont think you ladies are old enough to be here. LOL!! What a crock! But hey, I appreciated it anyway! LOL!!! We definitely had to go in after a compliment like that, especially as you only had to be 19! LOL! Well, we went in and this place just kept goingI dont even think we saw all the slot machines on the first floor, and we never made it up to the second floor to check it out either. They told us that they had just opened up 2 more wings there. We had lunch and played a couple of machines. Me and Buffy tried the Beverly Hillbillies one and both cashed out ahead, and we left after that. Definitely worth checking out again. Oh we did eat lunch by the way.
Well, get on the road and head to Rome, and get there a little after 8 at night and me and Buffy stay the night with Beverly.
Saturday June 18: Well, get up and get ready, put on my Slot Zombie shirt and head to Athens to take Buffy home, after a waking up to a flat tire and getting that fixed, on the road again. Get to Athens, drop her off, stretch my legs and hit the road for Warner Robins. I arrive home around 6 pm.
Well, I didnt bring home any casino money but I did bring back a little of mine and we sure did have a great time. At least it wasnt so bad that I had to bring out my shirt that said: one casino, two casino, three casino, poor!! LOL!! I put that money back to add to our Tunica trip Aug 9th Aug 12th. Me and Chuck are going for the first time and are making the meet. Thanks for hanging in there and reading this, Ill try to improve as I write these. Im sure I forgot things and if I think of anything important Ill let ya know. lol
