Oh I forgot to mention. For years I carried a Camera Case for a purse. It worked perfectly, was lightweight, canvas, had all the compartments, I needed, and would fit in the tray of the machine or around my neck. I wore it out, literally.

Since we're sharing how we organize ourselves for a gambling trip, how do you girls arrange your coupons? I have both my & my husband's coupons for buffets, casino money coupons and hotel coupons paper-clipped separately. That way, I don't have to rummage around in my fanny pack to find the right ones. Someone had the idea of using those plastic check holders for their coupons, and I think that's a fantastic idea. I could put all my paper-clipped coupons there.
I thought of a couple more things I carry with me: 1) Gum. I am addicted to Trident Sugarfree Gum, and it also helps to keep your mouth moist with the dry air & smoke in the casinos. Casinos and theme parks are probably the only places in the United States that do not carry gum. You can understand why. So I always make sure to buy the big 18-stick pack of Trident before I get to the casino. 2) Vitamins & pills. I put all my vitamins and/or supplements that I take everyday into a sandwich bag, then shove them down into the very corner of one end. I fasten with a twist-tie, then cut off the excess plastic. When I'm on a trip, I sometimes forget to take my vitamins/pills, because I'm out of my morning routine. If I remember suddenly that I've forgotten to take them that morning, I don't have to go back to my hotel room to take them. |

Great idea, Paula! I have a microfiber across the body red purse that is handy but it gets heavy when it gets all my junk in it. I got it from Lillian Vernon catalog. When you stay in a hotel connected to the casino you don't have to bring so much junk.

Wow! This has been so interesting to read, and I have enjoyed reading everyone's post.
I wore a fanny pack for a couple years (years, ago) but, I really didn't like it. I now have a very light-weight cross the shoulder purse. It is big enough to hold all I need, but small enough that it is never in the way. What I don't like about it though, is that all of the indivdual compartments are on the outside of the purse, and there are NONE inside. Paula and Sheryl, I think we would all be grateful if you could come up with a couple different purses to choose from. The different little compartments to put things are a must. I like the idea of casino design on the outside. I keep looking in stores also, and I have tried several, but, haven't really found any that is "just right" for me. Keep the ideas coming. They are great. Carol |

You all have such great ideas. I can tell you that we are currently creating a small bag with quite a number of different compartments. I call it a bag, but what it is is a purse organizer. You've probably all seen them somewhere. An organizer allows you to place everything organized in each compartment, but you can simply remove the organizer (with everything in tact) from one purse and simply place it in another purse. I tried it out over the weekend on my gambling excursion. I could find everything I needed.
The organizers have been created, now we need to "design" them for our casino goers. I'll keep you all posted. But first I'm printing off all of these great ideas so that we can now create the purse itself. Paula |

I know one thing I look for in any purse I carry, and that's one that does not have a flap over the top. I like a purse that just has zippers for closures. When you have a flap to open, you have to hold up the flap by tucking it under your elbow, so you can rummage around in your purse. The easier & quicker access is what I look for. Also, on the very front of my fanny pack, there is an elasticized mesh pocket, that safely grips whatever you put into it. A couple of those somewhere on the purse for tip money or a pair of eyeglasses would be nice.

I second Rap on the flap thing. Grrr flaps drive me nuts (nuttier).
I like the inside zipper thing great for stashing cash. Paula, Two or more money places would be cool, tips, and g money seperately. |

Two musts for me: Cross the chest (body) and Lightweight.
I like the idea of an outside pocket for my glasses, too. (If I'm in Vegas, I suppose I'd like two pockets for glasses - one for sunglasses and one for my 'puter glasses.) This is so exciting (my life is simple) thinking about a new casino purse. Hey, how about a name for it or has one already been picked? Hmmm, The Grab Bag? My mind is getting blurry, and I can't think of any more right now. I'll bet others can. Keep us posted. Judy |

Hey, Judy...I like the idea of naming the purse. "Casin-Go" Purse
And every purse could come with a little fake coin-like "lucky mojo" attached, like the signature tags on a Coach purse & some of the other designer purses.

Hello all - just wanted you to know that Just Sheryl is working on the design. I am leaving her in peace as she tries to create something with just enough
pockets, zippers, pouches, etc. We realize we won't meet everyones needs, but we'll give it our best shot.
The process takes time. Design, redesign, prototype, manufacture (well - you get the idea). And giving it a name is, of course, a must. So keep the names coming. I kinda like Lady Luck Purse. Another question for you - and I know we'll get all kinds of answers. What would you be willing to pay for the perfect casino going purse? You all will get a great discount, but if you had to pay retail, what would you be willing to pay? That will make a big difference in creating the purse. Paula |

I'd probably pay up to $30 retail for a Lady Luck ( I rather like that name, too!). Just throwing that number out there...maybe too cheap? I wouldn't
want leather (too heavy) or vinyl, would rather have some sort of fabric (really like microfiber but not sure about the cost.) I'm just full of MY wants,
am I not?

I'd probably go as high as $39.99 (it always seems cheaper when they put it like that, doesn't it? ....$40, no.....but $39.99, okay! *lol*)
On the strap, I like ones that are either a little on the wide side. Or ones that have a wider section where it covers your shoulder. After a long night, those skinny straps start digging into your shoulder. If you would happen to decide on the Lady Luck name (or any other name), how about creating a logo that you put on all the purses that denotes it as "THE" original Lady Luck purse: * A coin or tag attached to the base of one side of the strap with your Lady Luck logo * If in leather or vinyl, perhaps an embossed Lady Luck logo pressed into the fabric/material that is on one of the front pockets * A small "Lady Luck" logo design stitched onto the front |

Keep all the ideas coming ladies. Just Sheryl indicated that once we've created it, we'll prototype it and see what you think. I'm heading off to Las Vegas with my lady friends and will be back Wednesday. Sheryl is continuing to work on the design. Actually, she was thinking the strap would be a decent width. She thought of putting the lipstick/lighter or similar size pockets right on the strap - thought that could be quite useful for those of us always need the chapstick, etc. Won't have to go digging in the purse. The eyeglass pocket will be on the outside. She thought the credit card/slot card holder could actually be velcroed to the inside that way it could easily be removed when needing identification, etc. for those jackpot wins! She was talking pockets, zippers, mesh pockets, etc. I'm thinking - just how big will it have to be to hold all this!!!! But she's a great designer - I know she'll work it out. For those of you that don't know, our logo is actually a Club so we could continue that logo with the "Lady Luck" somehow. This is great fun and we couldn't do it without your input.

Since everyone seems very interested in acquiring a "fer real" casino purse, I did a little checking on the internet. As yet, I haven't found one
site that sells what you'd call a "casino purse." The closest I've found is a cloth bag that has one zipper on top, and a casino theme for
the material. That's it!
The girls on this message board who are creating a one-of-a-kind Lady Luck casino purse are really onto something, I tell ya. AT least 50% of gamblers have to be women, and, if we are to take into account all of the posts on this thread, we women are begging for THE definitive purse to carry our have-to-have items in one small, compact unit that is comfortable to wear for a whole evening. You girls are onto one great idea. I hope you can get the word out, because I think this may be one of your biggest selling items. Good luck, and we're all anxiously waiting to hear how you're doing with the prototype. |

Just wanted to let you all know that Just Sheryl and I continue to design the purse. I do have several ladies willing to help create the prototype, which will
be great (but still take time to create) and maybe get the prototype out to those of you on this thread to try it out, see what's good, etc. So basically,
you all could be our test market (no cost to you!). So bear with us and know that in time this idea will come to fruition and you all can say you were the
first to try the Lady Luck Casino Purse!
I'll keep you all posted. Paula |

Oh Paula, I have been meaning to email you. I saw a friend of mine in the casino the other day and she had a cool lightweight purse she bought in a casino
years ago. She said she would love a new one (not worn out like that one definitely was lol).
It had a long cord for a strap, the "body" of the purse was to her waist. It measured maybe 6x8 inches and was fabric with a couple of zippers and lots of pockets inside. The outside was Marilyn Monroe with (I think) Las Vegas screen printed in red in the corner. Didn't know if you had seen such an animal. My friend loved it because it was so lightweight as she has had several shoulder operations and couldn't handle much weight. I am excited about your new product, can't wait to see what you girls are coming up with. Jen |

Hello all - met with an Intellectual Property attorney today to discuss patents, etc. Very interesting. We didn't want to get too far into the process of
creating this purse and then have someone steal the idea. More to this than meets the eye. I can say; however, that we will not be able to use Lady Luck as
the purse name because it has been Trademark Registered for the use of bags. And that means we could possbily be sued if we used the name. So we'll have
to come up with another one. I have given myself the responsibility of creating the "draft". I'm getting there but it is a slow process. Once
I can devote more time to it, we'll get things rolling.
On a side note, we are working on items designed specifically for Gamblin' Girl Designs. They will be fun and affordable accessory type items. Couldn't have done this without input from all you wonderful ladies. Paula |
