I made a trip to T-town this past weekend. (I can't post a trip report - the slots were tooooo unkind!) Anyway, to my dismay Sunday night, there were signs posted on a huge portion of the machines at Sheraton that they would be taken out of service at 11:00 PM. I was afraid I knew what this meant - they were being removed. My suspicions were confirmed Monday before I left - they were about to go to that big slot graveyard in the the sky (at least that's what the security guard told me, and behind the black curtain hiding the goings on, most of the machines were gone). I doubt they were just moving them around - they probably really were going away. This was disappointing because most, if not all of these slots were quarter reel slots, and were slightly older machines. I feel these older machines payout slightly better than newer machines, and I really have this feeling about older Bonus Frenzy slots vs. new Bonus Frenzy slots.
Three reel single line quarter slots are what I play. I fear the machines being removed are going to largely be replaced with pennies (sorry if I ruffle feathers with that comment, but the penny machines don't do it for me at all). Sheraton disappointed me months ago when they removed all of the banks of quarter machines that were close to the entrance coming from Horseshoe and replaced them with pennies. I admit Sheraton is not the only casino that is doing this, but they are my favorite place to play, and one more round of quarter machine removal will just about mean I won't go back. I win more there than at any other casino, so this is pretty disturbing.
My question is - does anyone know the name of the Director of Slot Operations at Sheraton? When I went to Sheraton's website, I couldn't find any names, and I suspect any names I might find would be at the Harrah's corporate level anyway. If not the Director of Slots, are there any other names of folks anyone can recommend I write to? I'd like to be able to address my letter to a specific person rather than just to a title - I figure it might have a better chance of being read that way.
Thanks for any input! (Is there a "save the quarter slots" support group???)

Time will tell. GATOPCAT
