Please pray for her.
Today was also five years ago that our little granddaughter, Skylar, drowned. It's not been a good week.

My sister needs a lot of prayers sent her way. She just found out that she has a "mass" on her one working kidney. The Urologist said that he is
80-85% sure that it is cancer. She goes back next week for another scan, and then to talk to the Urologist about surgery. Because she is so heavy, he will
not be able to do the surgery himself, and she will have to go to either Cleveland or Columbus for the surgery where they have doctors that do the non-evasive
surgery (forget what it is called). Frances' one kidney only is functioning 3/4 so this is a major problem, and very serious.
Please pray for her. Today was also five years ago that our little granddaughter, Skylar, drowned. It's not been a good week. |

Carol, I'm sorry to hear about your sister. She will definitely be in our prayers.
I'm sure this is a sad day thinking about your grand daughter. Time heals all wounds but it still hurts. We'll be thinking of your family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your sister. Surgeons are doing amazing things these days. I'm definitely proof of that. I know you are missing your
granddaughter but try to use this time to remember the happy times you had with her and it will make things easier. She is gone from this earth but her memory
will forever live in your heart.

Oh Carol,
We will have her in our thoughts, but the doctors do work wonders these days. I don't understand much of the medical mumbo jumbo, but they can pull off some amazing feats. I am thinking of you and your family. |

Carol, I am so sorry to hear about your sister. Please know that we will keep her in our thoughts and prayers. The doctors can do so much these days. Have you
read what I wrote on here about Jerry's son having that mass the size of 3 footballs on his kidney? He weighed 450 pounds but the got the mass out. THey
thought it was Cancer too but thankfully it wasn't. He had to have the kidney removed later because it wasn't working. I realize that she only has the
one kidney where he still has one left. We wish the the very best in the world of medicine for her.

Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers.
I will try and give you an update later this week on my sister. Thankfully, Frances is thinking positve, and is determined to do what she can to beat this. She has given up Pepsi and Coke! I never, ever thought she would do this. She has changed her eating habits, and is eating lowfat food-----and, doesn't seem to mind at all. She hasn't been getting any exercise at all, but, she promised me that tomorrow she will walk down the hall. She needs to build up her strength. Thanks for your support. Carol |

UPDATE | #11 | ||
|
Yesterday my sister went to the hospital for another scan on her kidneys.
Today, Jerry got off work early so that he could take me to be with my sister when she talked to the Urologist again. She did get some good news. She lost 15 pounds! That is definitely in her favor, and I told her she should be very proud of herself. Really good news, is she still has some use of her bad kidney. He said Frances good kidney is working 56% and her bad one is working at 43%. Although this isn't good, it is better than we thought. The bad part, is it is the her good kidney that will have to be removed. The Urologist did say that she had good blood flow in both kidneys though. Frances how has an appointment on July 16th with a surgeon at the James (cancer center) in Columbus. We made sure it was a time when Jerry will be able to take her, so that I can go with her. Frances is determined to lose more weight before the operation. I know she will, because she has her mind made up. I imagine the operation will be a couple weeks after she talks to the surgeon in July. Frances is even walking some now. She needs to build up her strength. She is thinking positve, and I am so happy about that. |

Carol,
I am so proud of Frances. I know it is a tough battle. You tell her she has a cheering section here. Sounds like there is some hope on the horizon. I hope the next doctor appt will bring more good news and maybe a treatment plan. Thanks for the update. Jen |

Carol, we haven't heard from you in awhile about your sister, Frances. How is she? You said she would talk to the surgeon July 16 and might have surgery a
couple of weeks later. I pray she is better.

Hi, Anne:
It seems like a lot of running around, but, not finding much out. Frances (along with me and either our brother or my daughter) has been to the OSU hospital in Columbus several times in the last couple of months. Talking to the surgeon, having a biopsy on her kidney, etc.. As I had said earlier, the surgeon wasn't sure how Frances would do with surgery since she has so many things wrong with her, and because of her weight. They did the biopsy about a month ago, trying to rule out cancer (even though they are 85 per cent sure it is cancer), but, the biopsy didn't tell them a thing. So, actually, we didn't get anywhere with the biopsy. The surgeon who would be doing the cancer, is worried about Frances being put under for the surgery, because of all of her health problems. So, today, Frances, my brother, David, and I went to Columbus, to see an Internal Medicine doctor, and an Anathesiologist (sp). The anathesiologist doesn't think Frances is a good candidate for surgery, so now she has to go back to her heart specialist for more testing, to make sure her heart is in good enough shape for the surgery. This has been a long drawn out process............like a "hurry up and wait". Tomorrow morning Frances is supposed to get a call telling her when she is supposed to go and see her heart doctor. Thankfully, this is a local doctor. All we can do is wait, hope and pray that all will work out. Thanks for asking about Frances. Carol |

I'm sure this is very stressful on your sister and all concerned. The waiting is worst of all. From diagnosis to action is the longest time of your life.
It was less than 2 months from my diagnosis to the surgery. That time seems like years. I told the doc this may be routine for him and he's in no hurry,
but it was not for me and in all the time that elapses, that cancer is still growing.
Cancer is not for sissies. Tell your sister to be strong and keep a good attitude. I pray your sister gets some kind of action soon to hasten this process and the outcome is successful. All of you hang in there.

Thanks, Aretta. Prayers and good wishes are really needed.
Frances does have a positive attitude towards this, and I am thankful for that. The doctors that we have all talked to seem to know what they are doing. You are so right, it's the waiting and not knowing that is the worst. Frances appointment with her heart specialist is September 14th. Now, the waiting again. |
