I got to looking at the HS website and saw that the Classic room has the same amenities as the Deluxe room, only that the Deluxe room is larger. DW called back and asked the $ difference if we stayed in Deluxe rooms instead. She was told there were no Deluxe rooms available on our first night (Sunday), but we could move to Deluxe rooms the next day at the same rate as the Classic rooms. However, we would be charged the casino rate for the last night. Since we're staying so long, we've decided to do that (and will ask if Deluxe rooms are available for all the nights when we check in) - but just wanted to hear opinions whether it's worth the extra cost (if we don't get the rooms comped by the total play of the four of us). We stayed in Deluxe last trip and liked the oversized room. What do you think?
A few other questions:
We're Harrah's Total Rewards members (from playing in STL) and also had accounts at the Horseshoe before Harrah's bought it, and at Harrah's Grand (when it was Grand Casino Tunica). Is there a way to combine those accounts either before or after we arrive in Tunica? I don't know how long any points stay on your account ... maybe there are none to transfer. If someone has any insights on how Total Rewards works and whether I can combine points, please let me know.
What's the best way to comp meals and room - by asking for meal comps at the tables, or just charging everything to the room and seeing what comps we've earned at the end of the trip? We'll probably do at least one or two dinners at one of the steakhouses or fine dining restaurants, and I know those are harder to get comped.
I'm thinking about playing a round or two of golf while in Tunica - at Cottonwoods and possibly Tunica National. What's the best way to secure a tee time at a lower rate?
Finally, one of the other reasons we chose HS was that they had an outdoor pool. How does the HS pool compare to the pool at the Grand?
I know - lots of questions! Thanks in advance for your advice!
