Even though I know you're not supposed to carry your Social Security card, I always have mine with me when I go to the casinos and always give it to them
when I win a jackpot over 1200. But my friend Carol who is going to Tunica with me this Thursday does not have her Social Security card. She said someone
made her one of those little metal tags with her Social Security number on it years ago, but that's all she has. She can't use her Medicare card, she
said, because her Medicare is under her husband's number. She of course knows her Social Security Number but doesn't have the card or doesn't know
where it is.
Sooooo what would be required of her if she hit a jackpot over 1200? Her driver's license number is different from her Social Security number, so that's no help.
Have any of you run into this problem where you won a jackpot and did not have your Social Security card with you and what suggestions do you have for Carol?
She keeps saying, Oh, I'll never hit a jackpot; but, hey, it happens!
Thanks for any help.
Linda
