Don't laugh. What are the table maximums at craps & bj in Tunica? |
Lead | ||
|
I've been reading that most of the casinos have a $5 minimum at craps & bj. But I haven't seen anyone mention the maximum yet. What is the
maximum at craps & bj? I'm only a $5 bettor but I like to think positive. I usually try a few hardway parlays. And I try progressing the 10 whenever
I shoot.
Thanks. Eddie |

Eddie...(trying ..very hard..not to laugh) if you are a $5 min. better on the crap table I hardly think you have any problem concerning the table maximums.
parlays or not..If you reach the table maximum via a hardways parlay, I think(I know), that the casino will cover your bet, in fact they would love it...
I like a positive thinker..best of luck.. |

I am normally only concerned with the table's MINIMUM bet, but the usual is $5.00 minimum with a $5,000 maximum bet, although some casinos make it $5.00
minimum/$3,000 maximum.
Ofcourse its still misleading since a $5,000 maximum table would still let you go higher on the 6 and 8. And ofcourse if you are playing from the Don'tSide your upper limit is the amount you would have to bet in order to win the $5,000 limit. My understanding is that the upper limits are rather easily waived if you are at all in the mood. Good luck from a fellow "low-roller". |

I hope you all can believe this. During the 90s I use to play craps from 5 to 7 days a week on various boats in IL, In, and Ia. And I did very well for about
10 years. Sometimes I had to play $10 minimum tables. But mostly $5 minimum. I quit around 2000. Then I started playing again a little about 2 years ago. I hit
hardway parlays about 100 to 150 times. Once at the Silver Eagle in Galena I started with a $3 hard 6 or 8. I parlayed the $30. When that hit I was only
permitted to go to $150 instead of $300. The smaller boats had $500 maximums then. And you could only win twice the table maximum on any bet. On boats with
$500 maximums you could only collect $1500 for any bet. I hit the parlay for the $150 and collected the 1350 and left 150 up. Then it lost. A few shooters
later a player threw a hard 6 or hard 8 on the comeout. When I bet the other number the standing boss got very mad at me. He started yelling why aren't you
betting 150 now. etc. I quit the game after that shooter. When the cruise ended my wife wanted to stay another cruise. So I played some $5 bj. I lost my limit,
$100. So I went back by the dice and watched for a while. That boss wasn't around and the table was warm. So I got back in the game. And for the first and
only time ever, I hit another hardway parlay. Twice in the same day. The boss that got mad before was back. And he immediately went beserk. Yelling that I
could only bet hardways for $150 now and not a penny less. He came around the table and security was all over the place. Some bigger boss relieved him.
Everyone was explaining what happened. The bigger boss apoligized. I was shaking. I quit and we didn't go back to the Silver Eagle after that.
Here's how I use to use parlays in my old days of playing. This is how I built up my bankroll. I would parlay all natural comeout winning 7s or 11s. For example if a shooter threw a 7 or 11 I would parlay from 5 to 10. If he threw another one I would parlay to 20 and on up etc. Now if he would come out with a number before throwing a craps I would have a parlayed bet going. And I would need him to make or complete this number to win. Then I would leave the same amount on the pass line. And if he came out with more 7s or 11s I would continue parlaying the passline bet. At $500 maximums I hit the $500 about 10 times. At $1000 maximums I hit the maximum about 5 times. And once I went with some friends on a bus load outing the boats use to do about once a month or two. And they only had $25 minimum tables. And a bunch of the guys wanted me to shoot. So I did. I started with $25 on the passline. I parlayed it to 50, to 100, to 200, to 400, to 800, to 1600. The stick man looked right at me and said: aren't you going to bet any craps. I went nuts. I said stuff like are you crazy? I would quit before I ever bet against myself. He started apologizing. The boxman did also. Finally I picked up the dice to shoot. But then I put them down and said I quit. I picked up the 1600 from the line. Everyone wanted me to keep shooting. So I put $25 on the passline. I threw a craps. And everyone thought I was going to get mad and start up trouble. But I just laughed. I didn't say a word. I put down another 25. I threw a point and then 7 out. Whenever anyone would throw a hard 6 or hard 8 on a comeout roll for a number, I would bet the other number and try to parlay it 3 times. In the beginning I would start out with $3 and parlay it to 30, then 300 or lower if the limit was lower. Boats with 500 maximums would only let me go to 150. I would guess I hit for 1500 about 50 to 75 times. Boats with 1000 maximums would let me go to 300. I hit for 3000 about 50 times. And later the boats went to 2000 maximums. And I would start with $5 or $6 if I was having a winning session. And I hit for 5000 about 10 times. And I hit for 6000 twice. I still can't believe how lucky I was. There isn't any skill involved in winnig a parlay. All luck. And my third type of parlay was to parlay the 10 whenever I shot the dice. In the beginning I would place a $5 ten every time I shot. I would drop $1 and go to 15. Then buy it for 40, then for 120, then for 360. Back then 500 was the maximum. If I hit for 360 I would take it down and start over at $5 again. For some unknown reason for several years I would get lucky starting before Thanksgiving and lasting until a week or two after New Years. Later maximum limits changed and my backroll was built up bigger. I started using $10 as my starting bet. Then $15. Later $20. And for about 2 years $25. At 25 I would go to 75, to 225, to 675 and when it hit I would take it down and start over. Then I switched. when 675 hit I would go to the 2000 maximum. And if it hit I would start over. Then later I started leaving the 2000 up if it hit. My biggest win was at the Empress with a 2500 maximum. I went from 25 to 75, to 225, to 675, to 2000. When I hit for 2000 I went to the maximum 2500. Then I threw 10 for a comeout point. continued. |

I think at this time the Empress had 3X, 4X & 5X odds. They would not let me take the odds bets. They said the total would be over the 2500 maximum. They
said I could take some down from my 2500 buy on the 10. I asked and they let me bet the hard 10 instead. So I had something like 2475 on the buy. $25 on the
passline with 10 my point. And I made the 100 hardway a 2way, 50 for me and 50 for the dealers, player controlled. I hit a hard 10. The dealers were very
happy. I went to 200 on the hardwy, 2 ways. My next 10 was soft. I hit 3 10s at the 2500 maxium. That was my biggest win ever. But it could have been bigger.
If they had a higher maximum I would have gone from 2500 to 3500, then to 5000, then to 7000 etc. And that wasn't the most 10s I've ever thrown. But
back then that was the highest maximum around Chicago. Back in the 90s there was a craps message board that use to get a lot of posts each day. Hundreds of
posts. I haven't found it since I came back around 2005. I think it was recreational gambling craps . com or something like that. It had a bunch of
regulars. Jim Ferr or Jim the Systems man was one. He had a site.
Here's his link if it's ok. http://members.aol.com/jimferr/Alternate.html Someone told me my hardway parlay is number 77 if anyone wants to look at it. Now I want to make this clear. I am not a dice setter. I have never tried setting. I was lucky. Very lucky. For 10 years. But I had some big losing streaks in between. I have gone a year or longer before hitting a hardway parlay. I haven't hit one since I re started playing. But I use to play a lot more. I would play 5 to 7 days a week. And I would play 2 hours to up to maybe 10 hours a day. And I use to shoot the dice a lot more in the earlier days. As I started betting more on myself then other shooters, I started limiting the number of time I would shoot in a day. I use to bring a book of matches with me. And tear out 1 of the 20 matches each time I shot. Then later I started limiting the time I would shoot to 7 a day maximum. Then later 5 a day maximum. Then later when I would start my 10s parlay at 20 or 25, I would shoot a maximu of 3 times a day. And since I returned I don't shoot unless I'm about even or ahead some. And only 1 time I shot twice in a day. And several times I have not shot at all. Sometimes I go 3 or 4 times without shooting. And the last two weenends we've gone to Ia. But I don't shoot at the boats with 500 limits. Because the dice don't know or care about limits. I will hit my 10s sometime, sooner or later. But if I do it at a 500 maximum I will win much less then if I do it at a 5000 or higher maximum. I currently mostly play at the Majestic in IN. Mon through Fri it has $5 minimums. It says 50,000 maximum and I think it says 50,000 odds maximum. I don't even dream about getting that high. But you never know. And once a week we've been going to the Four Winds in Mi. They give my penny slot playing wife more then the others. This month she has 4 $40 coupons, one a week. Then she get special coupons that can only be used on Fridays, $20 the 1st, 25 the 2nd, 30 next Fri and 40 the 4th Fri. They only have $10 min. of Fri, Sat & Sun. And they have a 20,000 maximum. I think that is common around the Chicago area. 20,000 maximums with 20 times odds. The Majestic has 50,000 maximums with 100 times odds. And I've been to some of the others around here on weeknights and they have only had $10 minimums. I hope you all have some of the same luck I've enjoyed my older days of dice playing. I hope I have some more of it too. Good luck everyone. Eddie |

Eddie...Thank you for writing about your past craps playing history. You sound like a fun guy to be on the table with. I really enjoyed reading your fantastic
story. Sometimes the pit-bosses get a little over zealous in their efforts to control the player. I have used your approach also with an irate pit-boss..take
my money off the table and just walk away and come back later. I enjoyed reading how you play your parlays.. I just don;t have that kind of courage. I'll
bet your 2-way hard 10 really softened up "the boys" and its nice to read about a crap shooter's generosity. Many times we forget, that
"tokes" make up a big part of a dealers paycheck. Your "book of matches" counting system is pretty unique also. Your "POSITIVE
THINKING' attitude is very commendable.. I wish I had more of it. I hope your trip to Tunica is a winning one and hope you will write a trip report when
you return home. It should be an interesting read. I hope you have many more days of "parlaying on the table." Best of LUck..

I was at the Fitz a couple of months ago and there was a table reserved for a couple of high rollers in for a Friday night. If I remember right it was a $500
minimum bet with a $10,000 table maximum. Needless to say there were only those 2 guys playing on that table. I heard they lost a small fortune and bugged
out sometime Saturday.
Most of the casinos have a $5.00 or $10.00 table minimum with a $5,000 maximum bet.

Hey Eddie, my last trip I rolled 3 hardways 6's in a row. That would have been a heck of a parley. $10.00 would have gone to $90.00 and the next hit
would have been good for about $800.00 I only had a couple of dollars on it though but it sure is fun to roll those hardways. I also rolled a couple of hard
10's and 4's on that roll. Funny how hardways repeat sometimes.
