Sheraton to Change?

I just heard that the Sheraton must change its name by the end of this year since it will lose the franchise from the Sheraton Hotels. If this is true, I'm not pleased with the rumor that it will be known as the Tunica Road House Casino & Hotel and has a deal with Harley Davidson that will cater to you know who: bikers and a younger crowd. They want to change their image from that of a senior citizen hangout and will discontinue their Club 55 promotion.

I'm going on a trip to Tunica and then on down to Vicksburg. I was planning on stopping by the Greenville casinos just to say I'd been by. Has anyone else been by there. Any suggestions on what else to see? Thanks.

Horseshoe Pool Question

I did a search on this forum and figured out that the Horseshoe pool is on the second floor. I am curious about what size the pool area is. Do they have cocktail service? If not, do they mind coolers? Anything comments on the pool area in general. Thanks, I will be up there Thursday.

Horseshoe Luxury Rooms

Hi there, new to the forum...
My wife and I are staying at Horseshoe in June in one of the luxury rooms. I was looking for any info anyone has about these, i.e. are they close to the casino, are they nice, etc. We stayed in on of the delux rooms last summer and it was very nice, just a LOOOOOONG walk from the casino.

I have done some surfing of the free sites, but wondered if anyone has had good experience in any of the casinos or surrounding area finding free wifi. Goldstrike food court looks like a good try. Any other suggestions? Any other locations between Vicksburg and Tunica, especially in Greenville or Clarksdale areas? Vicksburg visitor center looks equipped, but an early morning spot for coffee and wifi would be perfect.

Just returned from Tunica, Sheraton removed all machines from upstairs and put up another wall. Now machines are jammed together downstairs. People bumping into your seatback, lots of smoke and noise YIPPEEEE!!!

So I am wintering in Florida and driving home by going up the Mississippi, trying to stay as cheaply as possible while playing poker all the way.
I left my Harrah's card home, called to see if I could get the number so I could check for deals. No dice. If I had lost my credit card, I could order a new one, but not a Harrah's card.

Well, today I am looking at hot deals on the Harrah's hot deals board. I figure I am in Tunica from March 15-20. There are hot deals...

Gold Strike

I stayed at the Gold Strike last week. It was 1st class. Excellent staff from valet to hotel check-in to bellman. The room was very, very nice. The dealers were extreemely nice and the buffets were good. The Gold Strike has to be the best place to stay in Tunica.

The Sheraton casino seemed like it has gone way, way down since I was there last in 2006.

The Horseshoe casino seemed about like it has always been. Pretty nice place.

The Fitz seems to have found a nice...

Hi all,

I think i have gotten my self a little confused.

I am in Tunica 8 Apr - 15 Apr with my wife and Mother in Law ( MIL 70th), we are doing the whole Elvis thing. But i wanted a hotel that had a Casino on site. I booked Harrrah's in a terrace room and think i have got it wrong ;(

I thought that Harrah's, Sheraton and Horseshoe where all side by side and that by placing in this area i could get around all 3 easily. I deffo want to roll to and from...

Tried to make reservations at the Hollywood last night for the end of September. Asked about a casino view room, was told if they are available at check in I could get one.
Asked about smoking room was told the same thing.
Asked about 2 Queen beds was told the same thing.
What the Sam Hill !!!What good are reservations there?

Rick and I plan on going down to see his father for his 80th birthday June 1, 2, 3. His dad lives in Lakeland but we will most likely fly into Tampa. I was wondering if any of you had points on how NOT to pay the $200+ room rates they have posted on the web? We have never played or stayed there but thought it might be fun to try.

I won't stay there for $200 a night - takes too much away from my playing money, but will consider it for $60(?) since there are a lot of places...

Is there anything wrong with asking for an upgrade to a room before checking in? The way I look at it is that it never hurts to ask because they wont tell otherwise. Also what is the likelihood the casino would have passes to the memphis in may festival/world bbq championship?

We are heading for Tunica this week and we are staying at the Sheraton for the first time. Can anyone tell me about guest parking? I've never paid any attention to hotel parking when I've played there. I assume there is a covered garage or parking lot that is accessed by going between the Sheraton and HorseShoe, but I'm not sure.

Okay, now that most of the Tunica casinos and hotels have been in operation for 10 years+, I'd like to know everyone's opinion of which has gone the farthest downhill. This is taking into account many factors. Quality of the hotel, chopping paybacks, etc..
I'll start and nominate the Hollywood. From what I hear(it's been a year since we graced their door), it's really going down the toilet. Rooms haven't been kept up, video poker payback slashed and machines removed, cashback/comps cut...

FINALLY, after almost a year, my friend and I are going to do a girls trip for a couple of days. I haven't been to Tunica since late March of last year. I have a few questions about the GS:

Do they still have the Multi Strike poker machines up front?

What are specials in the Atrium restaurant?

Do they still have the gift of the month? Does it still take 200 points?

Do they still have the $1 comp buffet lunch?

Any other info you can share...
